This is a self guided Manatee Search rental and may be done by kayak, paddleboard, or a combination of both.

The rental departs from Marathon at 1240 Overseas Highway, Marathon, Florida 33050, and explores the Gulf side near the Seven Mile Bridge, including the canals and shallow areas around Palm Island and the Fanny Keys, which are known manatee habitat.

This experience offers the best chance of seeing a manatee of any option we offer, and the entire outing is focused on searching for them. This is not a guided tour. You will be provided with a map that we text to you showing common areas to look for manatees.

We practice passive observation only. Manatees are observed from close proximity but must never be touched, chased, or interfered with.

Manatee sightings vary. Sometimes you only catch a glimpse, sometimes they linger near your kayak or paddleboard, and sometimes no manatees are seen at all. Sightings are not guaranteed.
